A patient is examined by 4th year medical student volunteer Heidi Haun on clinic day at the Baptist Medical Center in Nalerigu, Ghana. The man dropped an iron bar on his big toe two weeks prior. He did not go to the clinic in his village but resorted to traditional medicines which made the infection worse. As a result, Heidi Haun and volunteer Dr. Tomas Rebora amputated his toe the following day.
